Founded the Dulux Colour Awards as colour marketing manager, 20 years ago. It still is a significant industry event that changed paint specification.
Taught in the David Syme Business School at Monash University in marketing and business communication; studied Architecture before switching to Commerce at Melbourne University. Post graduate diploma in human relations.

Has a clear view on how people live, has written stories on around 2000 houses around Australia for magazines including Home Beautiful.
As style arbiter for the The Age’s MPG magazine and Bayside Weekly, selected the best house for sale in Melbourne each week for five years. The three page spread was highly sought after even by high profile celebrities and was a must-read.

Hosted her own 3 hour radio program on home and lifestyle issues for four years. A frequent speaker at conferences on colour, style shifts, retail, decorating. Managing director of the Colour Concept Design Studio (CCD), an unparalleled business in colour research, application and influence. Born in Denmark; lives in Melbourne, speaks fluent Latvian.

Sophie Taylor’s design work has influenced the success of many major brands in the fashion, homewares, food and automotive industries. Sophie’s training as a fashion and graphic designer have given her an enviable career. At a time when every part of the consumer world is influenced by fashion and style, Sophie’s sharp work has changed the look and profitability of many household brands.

Sophie has created fast moving fashion lines for Review and Just Jeans; Adidas, Fila Sportswear, Target have all benefited from her application of graphic details and colourisation to mass market clothing. When the wildly successful Marie Claire Paris homeware lines were introduced to Australia, Sophie worked on every aspect of the launch from product re-design and packaging to swing tickets and in-store posters.

Sophie’s influence has gone beyond the high style industries, she was instrumental in the design work for John West and Birdseye launches designing the packaging, brochures and even the point of sale, so bringing another area of retail into her area of expertise.Then there has been store design for major newsagent chains and Just Jeans, design work for BMW, Australia Post and the Mariott Hotel and web design that has improved the image of clients. Sophie’s a savvy manager, too, she took a break from design when she and a partner bought the legendary Flower Hotel, she ran the trendiest of the trendy hot spots of its day.
